Why visit
A coastal park where sea fog supports endemic cacti and desert wildlife. Viewpoints, trails, a fishing village and marine scenery make it a rewarding full-day visit.
Trails and viewpoints reveal species adapted to one of the driest environments on Earth.
Guanacos, foxes and seabirds inhabit the park. Watch from a distance and never feed them.
Ask at the administration office which routes are open and suitable on the day.
No surprises
The fishing village is about 28 km from Chañaral. Part of the access is gravel, so drive carefully and check official conditions before departure.
There is no regular public transport into the park. Use a private vehicle or an organised tour.
The administration area and designated sectors have limited facilities. Bring water, food, sufficient fuel and a backup way to pay.
